Our Story & Training Philosophy

Founded in 2013 by Helen Ainsworth ARAD, PDTD, The National Ballet Studio exists to deliver exceptional classical training. We believe ballet is the foundation of all dance, and our programme continually evolves—drawing on proven methods and modern pedagogy—to help each student thrive.

More than technique: we teach etiquette, professionalism, and a strong work ethic. TNBS students are known for the way they support one another and for the responsibility they demonstrate backstage.

Prepared for every stage:

• Auditions & workshops: readiness built through unset ballet classes.

• Exams: confidence developed via dedicated syllabus classes.

• Performance: stagecraft refined through regular performance opportunities.

A complete dance education: students gain a solid command of terminology and technique, an understanding of ballet history and repertoire, and awareness of leading schools and companies.

Opportunities for all: we strive to offer equal access to solos and lead roles. We celebrate dedication and improvement as much as excellence in technique.

Committed faculty: in August 2018, TNBS hosted the Middle East’s first Progressions in Ballet Technique Teaching course, welcoming teachers from across the GCC. Our team also undertakes ongoing Royal Academy of Dance CPD to maintain the highest standards of teaching..”
